The Christian Community in Hungary - International Celebration of the Foundation, 17-19 February, 2012.

Dear Friends,

Founding the Christian Community in a new country means establishing a community, which builds its relationship to the divine world through the renewed sacraments- not anymore only on special occasions, but regularly throughout the year. It means carrying full responsibility for all the inner and outer needs of the life of a congregation. We are deeply grateful that this turning- point in the developement of the Hungarian Christian Community has now arrived.
Through our geographical situation Hungary is set between East and West Europe. This quality of being a bridge can be seen in our history and can be found today as a challenge in our every day spiritual and social life.
So establishing a „Christian Community“ also aks for a sharpened awareness towards dialogue and value- sharing between East and West . It means creating opportunities and seeking for genuine conversation between nations.
It is also for this reason that we hope to welcome guests from many countries to our

International Celebration of

the Foundation of the Hungarian Christian Community

on17-19. February, 2012 in Dobogókő, Hungary.

This will be an outstanding event of the foundation process which begins on the 3rd Advent weekend (10/11 Dec 2011) in a smaller circle of mainly Hungarians, coming from all corners of the country.

We would be most pleased if you could enrich our celebration by your presence and we could welcome you as our guest in February.

With warmest regards, also in the name of the Hungarian Lenker Mr Walther Giezendanner,
and hoping to meet you,

Gwendolyn Fischer, Imre Silye and all co-workers.

We kindly ask for your understanding that we are submitting the above information much later than we promissed.
Finding the proper place for the congregation in Budapest proved to be a great challenge. We are very grateful that in mid November we could finally rent and reconstruct a genorous appartement in the heart of the city, fairly close to the Parliament and the Danube, easily accessible by public transportation, in the middle of the bubbling life of the capital…

The main events of the celebration will take place from Friday, 3pm on February 17 until Sunday, 3 pm on Sunday 19, 2012.
Before and after the festivities (on Thursday and on Monday) we are organizing full day excursions to Budapest and on Friday morning and Sunday afternoon half day excursions to Visegrád or Szentendre.
